FAQs
-
Well-maintained concrete can last 100 years or more! It’s strongest at 50 years and begins to break down the next 50 years.
Concrete tends to be more affordable than stone or brick pavers which require more upkeep due to shifting or cracking.
Asphalt may be cheaper initially, while concrete lasts longer and requires less maintenance over time. Asphalt also requires periodic sealing to maintain its integrity.
Concrete material preforms well in a variety of climates, including areas with high-heat, freezing and thawing. Ashplant can often soften in high-heat leaving you with a mess.
-
Depending on the project, concrete can cost anywhere from $8-$15 per square foot.
For more elaborate, large scale designs, decorative stamped concrete can cost from $15- $25 per square foot.
-
Depending on the size and complexity of the project, The installation of concrete typically takes about 5-25 business days.
-
All concrete typically takes up to 28 days to cure. With modern day additives, it can take up to 6 months.
Concrete is very strong and can handle heavy loads without damage.
-
Yes, Concrete can be stained or dyed during or after installation.
It is important to work with an educated team on correct stains or dyes for the appropriate surface.
As for stamping, there is only once chance to stamp the concrete when pouring new.
***Plain concrete can not be stamped once poured and dried.
-
Stamped concrete offers a more esthetic appeal while only costing a fraction more. Regular concrete designs can be more durable and cost effective, though less visually dynamic and appealing for property value and re-sale appeal.
Concrete can be easily customized through staining, stamping or coloring to mimic other materials like stone or brick. This gives homeowners a wide range of aesthetic options without the higher cost of actual stone or pavers.

Cracks are not easily fixable and require professional help to ensure structural integrity.
Control joints are extremely important to be placed correctly during installation.
Knowing how to use control joints (saw cut line, typically cut at 1/3 the thickness of the slab) will allow the concrete to settle where we design it to.
Concrete has a great way of cracking in the point-of-least-resistance. By cutting or applying control joints every 10 by 10 feet or 12 by 12 feet, and at the approximate 1/3 depth of the slab, we can nearly guarantee controlling any cracks or damage that may have occurred.
-
Cracks can be caused by factors such as soil movement, freezing and thawing cycles, or excessive weight. Proper sealing and mainentence will prevent cracking.
